She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles, her three sons, Charles Jr. (Jennie), of Helena, Ronald (Mija) of Miles City, Randy (Susan) of Redwood City, California, her grandson, Ian (Christine Dubbs) of Livingston, and many nieces and nephews were were all her favorites.

Donna was born July 13, 1932 in Salmon Idaho to Walter and Louise (Sampson) Schofield. She grew up on the family ranch on Geertson Creek in the Lemhi Valley and graduated from Lemhi County High School. Donna married Charles Nemec on March 6, 1949 and together they had three sons. Charles was a high school teacher and they moved frequently in the early years of his career. The family lived in Salmon, Idaho; Missoula, Montana; Lovelock, Nevada and Fairfield, Montana before settling in Livingston, Montana where he taught for the next 27 years before retiring. Donna stayed at home with her sons while they were young. She later worked as a dental assistant for several years, then as a clerk for the Northern Pacific Railroad and then the Burlington Northern Railroad.

Donna had a loving disposition and a bright sense of humor that she shared with family, dear friends, acquaintances and often anyone within earshot. She loved playing pinochle every chance she got, especially to see who did the dishes. Now, the Schofield siblings are together again and the chairs at the card table are all occupied, so the pinochle game can begin.

The family expresses their gratitude to all of the Son Heaven II staff and especially Leah, Hazel, Nancy, Lonnie, Lori, Amber, Mary, Mel, Shawn, Teresa and Linda Sandman for their kind, devoted, compassionate, loving and tender care of Donna. The family also would like to express their gratitude to St. Peter’s Hospice staff for their wonderful assistance during the final days of Donna’s journey, Dr. Jennifer Dodge and her staff and to all of the St Peter’s Hospital staff and providers who gave Donna such compassionate care over these past years. At Donna’s request there will be no services.
