Kristopher Keith Harris

Kristopher Keith Harris, 40, Winnett, passed away Sunday, Dec. 17, at home, of natural causes. Kris was born May 23, 1977, in Billings, the first of three sons born to David and Teri (McCue) Harris.

Kris spent his early years growing up near Blakeslee, attending kindergarten in Grass Range. He entered first grade in Winnett, graduating as Salutatorian of his class in 1995. Kris excelled at basketball at WHS, and sports were always a big part of his life. A lifelong Bears fan (except Jim Harbaugh), Kris loved watching football from a very early age every Sunday with his Grandma Twila.

Kris attended Dickinson State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration in 1999. He worked in hotel management for a number of years in Montana and Idaho before returning to Winnett. Kris spent several years ranching before starting his most recent business, Treasure State Reclaimed Lumber. Over the past five years Kris built a successful reclaimed lumber business, and was well thought of throughout the area for his work.

Kris was a kind and generous soul, greatly loved by his family. He especially loved his niece and nephew, Kaidyn and Jaxson and had a special place in his heart for Berkley.

Kris is survived by his parents; brothers, Nick (Kaidyn and Jaxson), Sean (Britni and Cayson), and an extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins who all grieve his loss.

A Rosary will be held in Lewistown at Creel Funeral home on Friday, Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Winnett Gymnasium on Saturday, Dec. 23, at 11 a.m. with burial at the Winnett Cemetery. A dinner will follow at the Winnett School.

Memorials may be made to the Petroleum County Ambulance. Arrangements are under the care of Creel Funeral Home. Kris’s family and friends can share memories and condolences at www.creelfuneralhome.com.
