A group of budding rocket scientists spent Thursday morning perfecting their launches on the Moore School lawn.
“Ten, nine, eight, seven…” the group chanted down in unison, with blast off at “one.”
“Wow, that one went really high,” a young scientist exclaimed as his soda bottle “rocket” shot into the air.
Powered by air pressure supplied through a bicycle pump, the rhinestone-and-paint decorated spacecraft were sent skyward when their designers yanked a string, sending a burst of air down a tube connected to the open end of the soda bottle.
