New healthcare clinic to open in spring

At Tuesday’s ground-breaking ceremony, and afterwards at a lunch at the Yogo Inn, officials from SCL Health outlined their plans for a new health clinic, opening in the spring of 2020 on the east side of Lewistown.

The company, which runs hospitals and clinics in Montana, Colorado and Kansas, plans to open a primary care clinic in Lewistown. The new 4,500 square foot facility, currently under construction on Cattail Drive across from the former Shopko store, will include a family medicine physician and a nurse practitioner. 

Save the cowboy, STOP the American Prairie Reserve

Since summer 2018, banners reading “Save the Cowboy, STOP American Prairie Reserve” have been showing up across the state and are clearly visible in Central Montana. In some places, it seems there are signs every couple of miles along a given stretch of highway. Altogether, 1,079 banners have been distributed to date, with more requests coming in, said the organizers.
