Arntzen announces updated preliminary enrollment numbers

Superintendent of Public Instruction Elsie Arntzen announced updated preliminary student enrollment numbers after all Montana school districts and counties submitted their data. The Office of Public Instruction collects enrollment data from school districts each October and February.

Montana’s unemployment rate decreased to 4.9% in November

Governor Steve Bullock announced Montana’s unemployment rate continued to decline to 4.9% in November, down from 5% in October. Montana’s rate remains lower than the national rate of 6.7% for November.

Make charitable donations by Dec. 31 for tax deduction

With the end of 2020 coming soon, the Montana Department of Revenue has a reminder: Contributions to charitable organizations and causes may be deductible on 2020 income taxes if made before the end of the year.

Thank you to all who participated in this year’s virtual HarvestFest Art Auction. This event could not have been more different than the auctions of years past, but the enthusiasm for supporting local arts remained constant. Here are some of our favorite lessons from this challenging but rewarding event. While you may not be following the fiddly ins and outs of the professional art world, artists in recent years have been standing up to demand more representation and fairer compensation at charity auctions.
