Truck Day training today in Hilger


Hilger Rural Fire District will hold its annual “Truck Day” training  from 9 a.m. to noon today, June 10, at the Hilger Fire Hall. Participants will refresh their skills on pumps and procedures on all the brush trucks and tenders, as well as practice hose lays and identify safety gear on the fleet.

Port Authority to meet June 14


The Port Authority will meet Wednesday, June 14 at 8 a.m. in the Trade Center at the Fairgrounds in Lewistown. Items to be discussed include old business and bringing an economic group from Billings to town.

This meeting is open to the public. 

Judith Mountain Players to hold monthly meeting 


The Judith Mountain Players will meet Tuesday, June 13, at 5:30 p.m. in the Meeting Room on the second floor of the Lewistown Public Library. Items to be discussed include financial and production committee reports, summer and fall productions, winter/spring production play selection, updates from the building committee, the reading group, other community projects, and other business.

This meeting is open to the public.


Fergus County Fair Board to meet 


The regular monthly meeting of the Fergus County Fair Board will be held at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, in the lobby of the Trade Center. Items to be discussed include the 4-H show, bathroom showers, nursing station, Mid-Rivers’ wireless proposal and the Central Montana Fair.

The public is encouraged to attend.


Moose to hold Fathers Day Dinner


The annual Fathers Day Dinner will be held in the Moose Lodge Dining Room on Friday, June 16 at 6 p.m. As usual, the girls are planning a great meal for the guys. Bring all the men (and ladies, too) in your family. Great food, great fun and great camaraderie. See you there.


Silver Sage to headline today’s dance


The Silver Sage Country Band is scheduled to play for today’s afternoon dance. The band features Lloyd McKenna on mandolin and guitar, Meryl McKenna on piano, Barbara Engle on bass guitar and Don Engle on lead guitar. All will participate in harmony vocals.

The dance hall is located at the corner of Third Avenue South and Barnes Street. The dance goes from 2 to 4 p.m. Dancers of all ages are welcome.

There will be a coffee/cookie break at 3 p.m. There is a small admission fee.


Writer’s Group to meet today


The Lewistown Writer’s Group will meet Saturday, June 10, at 1:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Lewistown Public Library.

LWG is a collaboration of Central Montana writers who meet on the second Saturday and fourth Thursday of the month. It is a non-profit resource for writers of all genres and skill levels. Members include published authors as well as those who like to write for enjoyment.

If you like to write, or be in the company of writers, come join us. If you want to share a piece of your work, bring eight copies.


Creekside Marketplace ideas to be discussed at TIF District Board meeting


The next public meeting of the Lewistown TIF District Board will be held Monday, June 12 at 8 a.m. in the SMDC Conference Room, 613 N.E. Main St. in Lewistown.

Agenda items include: project signs update, new applications review, update on the May 15th city meeting; marketing, and Creekside Marketplace ideas.

This meeting is open to the public.


Lewistown Trails Coordinating Committee to meet 


The Lewistown Trails Coordinating Committee will meet Tuesday, June 13 at 11 a.m., in the Civic Center. Items to be discussed include Trails and Ales, Creekside Park and Pavilion, mountain bike trail development and trail paving progress. 

This meeting is open to the public.
