31st Cowboy Poetry Gathering features poets, muscians

August 2016 marks the return of the 31st annual Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering and Western Music Rendezvous. Held in Lewistown, festivities begin on Thursday, Aug. 11 and last through the weekend, closing on Sunday, Aug. 14.
This year the Gathering and Rendezvous will feature over 100 cowboy poets, musicians and artists; 50-plus hours of cowboy poetry and music; a Western art and vendor fair; Charlie Russell Chew Choo dinner train; Jam ‘n’ Dance (featuring gathering pickers); Street Dance at the Yogo Inn; a Main Street re-enactment of the “Shooting of Rattlesnake Jake” by the Judith Mountain Players and more.
Montana Cowboy Poetry is the second oldest gathering in the country and was inducted into the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2015.
