American Legion Auxiliary

American Legion Auxiliary No. 76 met Monday, May 8, at the home of Rosalie Bruchez in Hobson. Co-Chair Joyce Turner and Rosalie reported in our successful Pie and Coffee Girls state fundraiser held on school election day.

Poppy Poster Chairman Audrey Miller and Irene Welch reported they had the 63 Poppy Posters from Hobson and Moore schools displayed. Those who took part, voted for People’s Choice. Posters were also judged with the winners from both schools sent to the Department for further judging.

Reports were given on our eyeglass wear collected at the library that we take to Lewistown for their Lion’s Club worthwhile project. We also collected non-usable [American] flags, to be disposed of properly by American Legion Post No. 16 of Lewistown, during a ceremony.

Memorial Day plans were made and poppies given to volunteers who will distribute them on Memorial Day, our Poppy Day.

Members decided to hold their Spring Luncheon on Monday, June 12, by joining the Hobson Senior Citizens for lunch. Each member will bring two-dozen cookies for the canteens that will be made for local Post’s WWII Veterans and Korean Veterans.

Auxiliary members are invited to the Senior Citizen Center for a Food Handing meeting to be held on Monday, June 5 at 7 p.m.

Hostess Rosalie served refreshments while members began recording 2017-2018 events.
