American Legion Auxiliary #76

The American Legion Auxiliary #76 met at the Moore Office Bar & Café on Sept. 13 for a no-host luncheon with eight members and one guest present. President Mae Rosman shared the unit awards received at Department Convention. She displayed the Poppy Posters that had placed first locally, and were sent to Department for judging where TJ Hickey of Hobson School received third place in Class I and Aaron Walters of Moore School received third place in Class 6. The unit received certificates in recognition for their activities in Americanism, Education, Education Week, Cavalcade of Memories, Children and Youth, Community Service, History, Leadership, Poppy Program, and VAandR. A party package was received for special recognition for children and youth, and a gift package for Leadership.

Letters were read from Department Secretary Jamie DeBates, District Secretary Fran Allen and District President Gayle Doney. We are invited to Harlowton on Oct. 9 for our District 9 Fall meeting. Thank you notes were received from veterans who had received cookies in June and Girls State Delegates for their graduation recognition.   

Following the meeting, Joyce Turner, membership chairman, presented Gert Barta a certificate for her 60 years as a Senior Member along with her paid membership. Gert has served as unit president, district president and department chairman.

The next meeting will be Monday, Oct. 10 at 1:30 p.m. at the home of Nell Blair.
