American Legion Auxiliary districts to meet Oct. 9

Kenton Barnhart, commander of American Legion Post 15 in Harlowton, said today about 130 Legionnaires and members of the Auxiliary are expected to attend the fall meeting of districts 7, 9 and 11 on Sunday, Oct. 9, at the Harlowton Post located at 19 Third Street Northeast.

Mr. Barnhart said there are about 2,700 Legionnaires in districts 7, 9 and 11. The posts are located in Bozeman, Big Timber, Livingston, White Sulphur Springs, Belgrade, Ennis, West Yellowstone, Manhattan, Three Forks, Big Sky, Gardiner, Harlowton, Lewistown, Roundup, Stanford, Denton, Judith Gap, Hobson, Roy, Winifred, Billings (three posts), Hardin, Red Lodge, Columbus, Fromberg, Belfry, Hysham, Park City, Custer and Laurel.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. at the Harlowton Post located at 19 Third Street Northeast; the Department program will begin at 10 a.m.

A joint banquet will commence at noon at the Youth Center, located on Second Street Northeast across from Midtown Market, with Department Vice Commander Larry Dobb of Great Falls as guest speaker.

The business meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Post. Zone Commander Len Albright of Bozeman will conduct the Legion meeting. The District 9 Auxiliary President, Gayle Doney of Lewistown will conduct the Auxiliary meeting.
