Concerned about the future of Ackley Lake?

 

Letters of concern for the future of Ackley Lake can be sent to Chas Van Genderen, Montana State Parks Division Administrator, P.O. Box 200701, Helena, MT 59620. Constructive feedback is welcomed at the Aug. 18 State Parks Board meeting at First People’s Buffalo Jump State Park in Ulm. Ackley is scheduled for 11 a.m. discussion, but could move into the 10 a.m. slot. 

 

China Garden reopens today

 

New China Garden owner Michelle Kong announced Monday that the China Garden is officially open again, as of today, Wednesday, Aug. 10. An extensive remodel of the building was done, but now business is ready to resume serving customers as usual.

 

Cub Scout Day Camp is Aug. 18

 

Cub Scout Day Camp is Thursday, Aug. 18, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The camp will be held at the K-M Scout Ranch, located 20 miles north of Lewistown in the North Moccasin Mountains, and is free for all Cub Scouts and friends. Scouts are encouraged to bring a buddy; participants do not need to be registered in scouting to attend. Parents are encouaged to participate. All participants should bring a lunch, sun protection and dress appropriately for outdoor activities. Scout uniforms are not required. Boys going into 1st-5th grades are welcome. Economic Affairs Interim Committee meets Aug. 30-31

 

The Economic Affairs Interim Committee will close out its 2015-2016 interim Aug.30-31 with reviews of agency legislation and potential committee legislation related to its studies of air ambulances and licensing boards and its other activities.

Drafts of possible committee legislation along with information about reports and agency legislation will be posted on the committee website as they become available.

Walleyes Unlimited membership appreciation picnic

 

The next Walleyes Unlimited meeting and membership appreciation picnic will be at the Lewistown Aquatic Complex on Thursday, Aug. 11 from 6–8 p.m.

LGSC next meets on Aug. 12

 

The Lewistown Government Study Commission will have their next meeting on August 12 at 11 a.m. at the Civic Center. Agenda items include discussion and action on the final report. This meeting is open to the public.

 

Senior dance for Aug. 13 cancelled

The Aug. 13, Saturday afternoon Senior Citizen dance has been cancelled in support of Cowboy Poetry. The dance schedule will resume on Aug. 20.

 

Fergus County Commissioners look at flood plain permit

 

The Board of Fergus County Commissioners will hold its regular business meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 2 p.m. in the County Commissioners’ office at 712 West Main Street, Suite 210 in Lewistown. Items on the agenda include a public hearing on the Floodplain Permit #01-2016-FC and personnel announcements. This meeting is open to the public.
