Montana Painters Alliance in the Margie Wilkins Gallery

If you missed the opening last Friday, don’t wait to come and explore the wilds of these works by Montana painters. The Alliance has been to Central Montana twice for their paint-outs (outdoor painting excursions), so you’ll be sure to recognize some of these familiar landscapes. The exhibition includes works by several Montana artists from all over the state, and each of these works contains its own particular beauty. These works function well as a group and seem to communicate with one another about land, light, and our perceptions of each. See this area of the world anew, and come chat with us about your favorite piece.

WinterSongs

It’s that time of year again. We’re so excited to welcome Central Montana’s finest singer-songwriters back to the Jack’s Hangar stage for their seasonal concert, WinterSongs. WinterSongs asks our talented and musical friends to arrange or compose their own versions of “Winter Songs,” ranging from covers, to originals, to traditional, seasonal favorites. This evening of merriment will kick off at 6 p.m. at Jack’s Hangar on Dec. 16. The Lewistown Art Center will be serving delicious, artful appetizers, hot buttered rum, and a bar with wine, champagne, and Montana beer. Before the concerts starts at 7:30, this cocktail hour is a perfect chance to check out the variety of Silent Auction items provided by the LAC’s staff and board (perfect for holiday gifts) and to check out the items up for bid during the Intermission’s live auctions. We’ll be auctioning off some wonderful getaways and experiences, from ski passes to a “Stay and Sleigh” package. Finally, Dec. 16 is the last chance to enter the raffle for a Bill Ryder Horse Sculpture. This beautiful piece of indoor or outdoor art has been in our front window for a few months, and we are ready to release this horse into the wild. Enter for your chance to win this amazing sculpture.

We’re so grateful to Dave Rummans and all the musicians who work to make this event possible. Tickets are available at the Lewistown Art Center, on the corner of 4th and Main.

Social Night at the Lewistown Art Center

Don’t miss our last Social Night of the year. To celebrate our community, we’re asking you to join us on Wednesday, Dec. 20, for a Storytelling Social Night. In the spirit of the season, we’ll get together with great treats and warm drinks to come together as a community. I’m so excited to hear from our diverse storytellers, and maybe share something myself. You are not required to tell a story if you attend, but you are certainly welcome. Join us for an evening of yarn-spinnin’ fun. You won’t regret it!
