Athlete of the Week

Caleb Hess

Caleb Hess was exhausted when the final buzzer blew in Winnett on Saturday night. Not only had Hess played the entire contest for the Rams, but he added eight more minutes to total 40 minutes of playing time in the double overtime win against Roy-Winifred.
“I think it was the most exciting game I have ever played in,” said Hess.
Playing full games is nothing new for Hess this year.
“Most of the time I don’t come off the floor this year,” said Hess after his 30-point game against the Outlaws. “Zane (Stahl) and I work hard in practice as well, so we are in shape for the games.”
In addition, Hess had seven steals in the contest. Several of Hess’s scores came off his defensive steals.
Hess and Stahl have taken over the leadership roles for the Rams. With the only senior on the squad unable to play at the present time, the two juniors have stepped up their game.
“The coach (Levi Johnson) is working us hard,” added Hess. “We are trying to make everybody better as a team.”
