The rosters for the 72nd annual Montana East-West Shrine game were announced Christmas day. Although no local football players were named to the game, two Central Montana athletes were named as alternates, Fergus’s Wyatt Blythe and Grass Range-Winnett’s Chris Campbell. Blythe was named as an inside linebacker, while Campbell was named as a defensive end.
The game will be played July 21, 2018, in Great Falls. It is one of the oldest high school all-star football games in the United States. Players are nominated by their schools and coaches. To be named as a player or alternate for the game is a very prestigious honor for any football player in Montana.
The East team will be coached by Levi Wesche of Bozeman High School. The West team’s coach is Kyle Mihelish of Helena Capital.
