From Jeanette Rector, homework room director:

The Homework Room has been really busy with our kids coming in and working hard on their homework. The number of kids coming into the room asking for help, utilizing our reading room for some quiet time or to catch up on their reading has climbed. This has been really nice to see.

Recently, several of our kids shared their report cards with me and I am really proud of our youth and the grades I am seeing. I am also pleased with how proud our youth are of the results of their hard work.

We have also added “Brain Games” to our rotation. Kids have different games to challenge their brains, and this activity’s attendance has also risen. I see some of the same kids coming back to accomplish a game on which they were stuck. It is so much fun to watch and help the kids that come through the homework/brain games room.

One last thing: We have a parent donating his time to teach some kids how to play chess, and this has been a huge hit. They look forward to this every week. We completed this round of chess lessons, but hopefully will have more in the future. Have a fun and safe week.

From Crystal Tyler, office manager:

We are in full swing with summer safari sign-ups but we still have spots left. Our next enrollment meeting for new and current families for the summer program is Monday, March 27 at 5:30 p.m. Please remember that this is a first-come, first-served enrollment so don’t wait. We have lots of fun activities planned to keep your child active and learning.

When do you think the snow will finally be melted in Lewistown?
