Central Montana Education Center Happenings

June bus tour field trips

Do you want to get away this summer and explore the beautiful area of Central Montana? Well, the Central Montana Education Center has you covered. We have two trips in June to allow patrons to enjoy a day out of town. Join us for a trip to the old mining town of Kendall on our Last Gold Rush bus tour on Saturday, June 17. Hear the history and see the ongoing mine reclamation. The group will have a picnic in Maiden followed by a tour of that historical gold mining ghost town.

Our other trip will be a fun-packed day at the Summer Festival in Fort Benton. Join us for a day filled with various activities to welcome summer and celebrate Montana history. A few things you can look forward to are the “Crafts and Fun Things” booths, visiting the Missouri Breaks Interpretive Center, Art on the Levee, Second U.S. Calvary Encampment, historic Old Fort Benton, a parade, live entertainment and various food vendors. We will take a bus to Fort Benton for a day trip on Saturday, June 24.

Please contact the Central Montana Education Center with any questions or to register at 535-9022. For planning purposes, people are encouraged to call us to get registered as soon as possible.

Seeking instructors and classes

Starting in mid-June we will begin building our Fall Adult Education class flyer. To provide a wide variety of Adult Education classes we are constantly on the lookout for new class ideas. These ideas often come from community input that we encourage and enjoy. Community involvement helps keep our program diversified. Therefore, what is the class that you have always wanted to take? Have you seen great crafting or decorating ideas on Pinterest and have always wanted to learn how to create these pieces yourself? Are you interested in art, music, fitness, estate planning, computer skills, cooking classes? Whatever you are interested in, let us know. We aim to serve the community.

On the same note, we are always seeking out new instructors. Do you have a talent teaching computer skills? Or do your talents lie in any other skill, craft, trade, profession, or passion? We want to know. More often than not your skill is exactly what other individuals are seeking.

How much time do you spend using a computer or smart phone during a typical day?
