Vesper Chapter 83

The regular stated meeting of Vesper Chapter 83, Hobson, was held Oct. 19 with Dorothy Brook, Worthy Matron and Jim McCollum, Worthy Patron, presiding.
The Secretary, Debbie Bricker, read the minutes and communications received. Forthcoming official visitations next week will be Moss Agate in Billings, Helen C in Great Falls, followed by Vesper Chapter on Saturday. A letter from the Book of Instruction Committee was read about reviewing our Code Book.
Balloting and the Exemplification of the Degrees were practiced in preparation of the Official Visit on Saturday. This was followed with the flower march.
Back to business at hand, there was a review of who was to bring what for refreshments. Also, officers were appointed to help with setting up the meal following the meeting. Many thanks from the Worthy Matron for accepting so graciously.
It was voted to present Honorary Memberships to the Worthy Grand Matron and Worthy Grand Patron.
The installation of the station of Sentinel was performed and Brother Fred Hanna was installed for the ensuing year.
The Star Points were honored. The Worthy Matron read information about each station and token gifts were presented, along with appreciation for accepting these positions. It’s so nice to see the stations filled.
The Altar was draped in memory of Brother Don Goddard, Past Grand Patron, 1994-1995. The Secretary read his memorial. Members recalled numerous things about Brother Don, especially as he was a well-known racquetball champion in Montana. Along with him was Doris Anderson, Worthy Grand Matron, and their Grand Chapter was held in Lewistown.
Travels reported were to Hamilton, Victor and Missoula. Several members attended the Official Visitation in Grass Range on the 15th.
Illness and concerns were extended to Merle Boeman, a sister of Kathy Longfellow, Brother Wayne Hanna and Billeta Wainwaring. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of them.
Closing was performed in regular form. Refreshments were provided by Dorothy Brook. We all enjoyed great fellowship and are anticipating our Big Meeting on Saturday.
