Youth Mentoring Spotlight

Cooper has been a mentor for all four years of high school. He has been busy at Fergus High – involved in Film Club, Science Olympiad and the Impact Team. He has an interest in film-making and hopes to make a big budget film one day. To help him achieve this goal, he will be attending Montana State University to earn a film degree. He says the special part of high school for him was not dying his freshman year.

Cooper had this to say about the mentoring experience: “It will really help me with leadership skills, especially since I want to become a director.”

It is not a surprise that he enjoyed watching movies with his mentees during his years as mentor but he also said he liked the large group activities when there were obstacle courses.

Cooper says his grandpa has been his role model. He said, “My grandpa’s determination to get things done is very inspiring.”
