Debora Edith Dunlap Taurman

Debora Edith Dunlap Taurman, 64, died Thursday, May 3, 2018 in Centralia, Washington, surrounded by her loving family and sweet dog, Chloe.

Debbie was born in Lewistown, Montana on June 8, 1953 to May (McDonald) and Howard Dunlap.

She attended Lewis and Clark Elementary, Lewistown Junior High and Fergus High. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in microbiology from Montana State University, Bozeman.

Debbie married Will Taurman, a Utica native, Aug. 28, 1978 at St. James Episcopal Church, Lewistown. For nearly 40 years, their love and friendship was deep and enduring, especially throughout the two years and seven months following the diagnosis of glio sarcoma cancer of the brain.

Debbie chose a career in banking and rose to the position of branch manager in Centralia before retiring in August, 2015.

After college, Debbie moved to Vancouver, WA where her sister, Patti, and family lived. She and Will lived in Vancouver for 18 years before relocating to Centralia where they lived together for 23 years.

Debbie enjoyed flower gardening and bird watching with Will, as well as making home cooked meals to share with family and friends in the beauty of the yard and home they created together. They watched football, played pinochle and cribbage, board games and Pictionary and Debbie created beautiful crossstitch projects.

Family reunions, Victoria, Canada, Hawaii, the mountains, camping at their lakeside property home and especially the ocean at Cannon Beach and Seaside, Oregon, were favorite places Debbie and Will traveled.

Survivors are her husband, Will, Centralia; sisters, Barbara (Jim) Connolly, Billings, and Patricia Farley, Lewistown; nieces, Cynthia Farley, Snohomish, Washington, Doreen (Scott) Smith, Billings, and Kathleen (Russ) Kirkpatrick, Red Lodge; nephews, Scott Farley, Seattle, Washington, and Patrick Dunlap, Elmira, California; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Additionally, Will’s sisters and brothers, Rosemary Kelley, Betty Jenkins, Wayne Taurman, Melvin Taurman,

Bob Taurman, Sherman Taurman, Judy Hertz, Don Taurman, Luann Grigeroff and numerous friends, especially Jolynn (Sudbrock) Hamilton her lifelong best friend forever.

Preceding Debbie in death are her parents, May and Howard Dunlap; brother, George Dunlap; brother-in-law, Lloyd Farley; nephew, Stephen Connolly; grandparents, Margaret (Crockett) and George McDonald; brother-in-law, Gary Taurman; mother and father-in-law, Mildred and Charles Taurman and numerous aunts and uncles.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. to honor and celebrate our Debbie’s life at St. James Episcopal Church, 505 W. Montana St., Lewistown. The Reverend Jean Collins is officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church Parish Hall.
