DeMars, Smith of Winifred named Girls State Delegates

The Winifred American Legion Auxiliary Post 120 is proud to announce the 2017 Girls State Delegates from Winifred High School. The delegates are Kayla Smith, daughter of Darryl and Lynn Smith, and Samantha DeMars, daughter of Joe and Jodi DeMars.

Kayla is an active junior member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Winifred. Her reason for attending Girls State is to have the opportunity to learn more about our election process and experience them first hand at Girls State.

Samantha developed a strong interest in government on a previous trip to Washington, D.C. and participating in mock court. Newspaper and choir are interests she would like to pursue as a delegate.

They will represent Winifred High School at Montana American Legion Auxiliary Girls State in Helena on June 11 through June 17.

Treasure Girls State is a program in Americanism and in understanding our democratic form of government. Winifred American Legion and Auxiliary Post 120 sponsor the delegates.
