Denise Swan Lund

Denise Swan Lund, age 66, passed away on July 4, 2020, due to cardiac arrest and hypoxia in Billings, Montana. She is now at peace with the Lord, and she is united with her favorite dog, Kelly, who has been waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.

Denise was born June 16, 1954, to Oscar and Pat Swan of Lewistown. She lived and attended schools in Lewistown and graduated from Fergus County High School in 1972. She moved to California to join her sister Georgia in 1974. After working at jobs for an electronic parts store and a successful machine shop, Denise’s love of animals prompted her to attend dog grooming school in California, and she worked in grooming shops while there. She moved back to Montana in 1989 and worked at several different jobs. She always chose caring professions, such as helping and caring for the elderly. Denise loved pets and grooming and was very excited to open her own pet grooming business, the Dog House in April 1994, in Lewistown, which she had for many years. Her clients all loved her and her work, and their pets loved Denise, too. Denise had a gift for working with them. When her back issues led to her having to give up grooming, she volunteered at the Central Montana Community Cupboard and loved it. She was married to Patrick Lund in December, 2003, they divorced in March, 2019.

Denise was preceded in death by her father Oscar Swan in 2000 and mother Pat Swan in 2003. The loss of her parents was very painful for her, and she struggled with that throughout the remainder of her life.

She is survived by her two sisters; Georgia (Don) Cline of Kalispell and Judy May of Billings, and her brother Greg (Rose) Swan of Lewistown.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. at Celebration Foursquare Church in Lewistown. Memorial donations may be made to SAFE, (Save Animals from Euthanasia which is affiliated with RescueMe, a national online animal adoption site.)
