Donald D. Rowe

Don Rowe was born in the family home about five miles northeast of Denton on Jan. 2, 1937, a snowy, cold day. Don passed away at the Riverstone Hospice House in Billings in the early morning of Nov. 1, 2022. He was 85 years old. Don was raised in Denton, and graduated from Denton High School in 1955. Don and his wife Gerri celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2022. Don is survived by his wife Gerri and their two children, Daryl (Tami) Rowe and Karen (Rick) Ballantyne; four grandchildren, Kailyn and Taylor Rowe and Savannah and Jessica Ballantyne. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. His parents, Trent and Maude Rowe, sister Betty Brown, and brother Robert (Bob) Rowe predeceased him. Don’s career was in sales, working for Northwestern Auto Supply, Standard Parts, and S&P Brake Supply.

Don was an avid bowler for over 42 years and during that time bowled three perfect 300 games. He carried an overall average of 200. He was inducted into the USBC Billings Hall of Fame for the 2006-2007 year. Don enjoyed golfing in the summers and was a member of the Pryor Creek Golf Club.

Don also enjoyed singing and sang baritone for many years in the Big Sky Barbershop Chorus and was a member of several quartets. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #119, and the Treasure State ATV Club. Don and Gerri enjoyed camping and exploring many trails on their ATV in the Montana Mountains.

In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that a donation be made to your home church or to a charity of your choice. For many years Don was a member of the United Methodist Church in downtown Billings, and at the time of his death was attending the New Hope Nazarene Church.

Cremation has taken place and services will be held at the New Hope Nazarene Church, 25 Hilltop Road on Monday, Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. A lunch will be served at the church following the service.
