Donald Marvin Dormady

Donald Marvin Dormady, 78,  of Stanford passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls, Montana.  Donald was born in Great Falls, on August 17, 1938 to Lyle and Pearl (Matthews) Dormady. He attended Greenfield Grade School and Fairfield High School before entering the U.S. Navy.

Donald enlisted in the U.S. Navy in March of 1956 and retired as MMC 19 years later in March of 1975. His service included the USS Hancock Naval Air Station, Memphis, Tenn.; USS Ingersoll, USS Galveston, USS Shields, USS Cogswell, USS Bauer, Navy Recruiting Station- Omaha, Neb., Council Bluffs, Iowa, Winner, S.D., USS Truckee and Naval Reserve Facility, Great Falls, Mont.

Following his military career, Donald worked in refrigeration for four or five years and then as a bowling alley manager/mechanic for 20 years. He worked at the Eagles Lanes, Snowy Lanes, Hideaway Lanes in Billings, Pin-N-Cue in Great Falls and the bowling alley in Harlowton.

On Aug/ 29, 1981, Donald married June Marie Sirucek in Lewistown. He was a fun-loving family man. He loved to play cards and played with the Stanford Womens Pinochle Club and the Silver Sage Pinochle Club. Donald also enojoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and watching WWF wrestling.

Donald is survived by his wife, June; children, Donald, Leonard, Pearl, and Roy; siblings, Gerry Dormady, Robert Dormady, and Donna Dormady Hoff; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren with one on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Anna (Nesbit) Dormady; siblings, Cleve, Herbert, Tracy, Lawrence, Howard, Bruce, and Clarence.

Funeral Services will be Friday, April 28, 2017 at Creel Funeral Home in Lewistown. Viewing will be at 1 p.m. with the service to follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be at the Lewistown City Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorial donations can be made to the D.A.V. (Lewistown), 715 Huron St., Lewistown, MT 59475, American Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
