The eighth-grade math class is building a 1/12-size model of the house Mr. Bergum, the math teacher, is going to build.

Mr. Bergum said, “The eighth-graders started working on the house when they learned scale factors, so this will help teach them scales and measurements.”

Caraleigh Bristol, one of the students, said, “I think he wants us to have the same experience he did when he was younger by building a model of his house. When he was 12, he and some of his friends built a cabin, and they slept and ate in the cabin.”

Hands-on experience is always a good learning tool.
