Eleanor Doris Miller passed away unexpectedly May 4, 2018, at Caslen Assisted Living Center in Lewistown, Montana of natural causes. Eleanor was born on Aug. 20, 1938 in Kalispell, Montana, the daughter of Author and Francis Arneson, number three of seven children.

Eleanor lived the majority of her life in Central Montana, completely confident and comfortable doing her life work. Eleanor was devoted to her husband Jack and their five sons. She was attentive, creative and present for each and every one of whomever else they brought along for the journey. She was a 10-year leader in Cub Scouts, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Judith Gap. She was an in-home childcare provider and spoke of each of the children she watched over with fondness. In her earlier years she was an avid bowler leading the Harlowton women’s team to the state finals. Eleanor enjoyed music, her dear friends that shared stories during her daily coffee group, and her special kitty Dusty.

Eleanor is survived by her sons Marvin of Tucson, Ariz., Neal (Lori) of Lake Stevens, Wash., Leon (Delane) of Yakima, Wash. and Mike (Sandi) of Lewistown; brothers Fran (Sharon) of Sidney, Andy of Judith Gap, Arnold (Kathy) of Phoenix, Ariz. and sister Ruby and sister-in-law Joy, both of Lewistown; seven grandchildren: Ben, Dillon, Gavin, Alyssa, Michael, Christina and Nicky; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her soul mate of 60 years – her husband Jack, her beloved son Don, parents Author and Francis, sisters Alice and Margaret, brother Jim, brothers-in-law Tony, Frank and Bernard; daughter-in-law Tina.

A memorial service will take place in Judith Gap at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 1 p.m. The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Eleanor will be missed by her family, friends and community; she was true of character, never wavering from her faith and love of family.

Friends are asked to make memorials to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Judith Gap or the charity of their choice and they may be left at Cloyd Funeral Home. Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.cloydfuneralhome.com.
