Endocrine surgery offered by local physician

As one of only two endocrine fellowship trained surgeons in the State of Montana, G. Scott Smith, MD (CMMC General Surgeon) offers patients who require endocrine surgery the opportunity to have surgery close to home.

Dr. Smith spent his medical fellowship at Rush University in Chicago, focused entirely on surgical endocrinology and was trained by one of the world’s foremost experts in endocrine surgery. Because of this intense and focused training, he is able to provide a high level of care for thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal disease right here in Lewistown. Dr. Smith is able to offer care in the evaluation, treatment and postoperative care to Central Montana patients without the need to travel out of town.

Thyroid and parathyroid disease are common diseases that affect a significant portion of the population.

Thyroid nodules have been noted to affect nearly half of the population and while a large percentage of these nodules prove to be benign, they must be evaluated by a physician to determine if a biopsy is warranted.

Central Montana Medical Center is delighted to have Dr. Smith here in Central Montana and for the opportunity this service will bring to the many patients here in our area. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call Dr. Smith’s office at 535-6262.
