Fergus JV golfers complete season

Fergus junior varsity golfers pose for a photo following their final tournament of the season in Livingston on Monday. Today (Saturday) the Fergus varsity is playing in Livingston in the Central A Divisional Meet in order to qualify for state.

The junior varsity golf teams completed their season on Monday when they competed at the Park JV Invitational in Livingston. The Fergus girls won the team title, scoring 509 points. Other teams competing on the girls’ side were Park, Dillon and Belgrade. The Fergus boys finished in second place to Laurel. The Locomotives finished with a score of 361, followed by Fergus with 408. Park was third at 449, followed by Butte Central with 453 and Belgrade with 475. Dillon also competed but did not have a team score.
“Winds were gusting to 44 mph,” said Coach Brett Thackeray about the meet, “yet over half of our golfers posted personal records.”
Allison Denton shot a 122 to take third in the girls’ meet for Fergus. Marissa Ray followed in fourth place with a scored of 123. Emily Kolstad finished sixth with a PR of 125. She was followed in seventh place by Josie Friesen with a 139 and Jessi Bolton in eighth with a 141. The winner of the tournament was Park’s Romy Feldtman with a 109. Second was Dillon’s Kylee Pittman at 117.
Alec Manseau was the top finisher for the Fergus boys. He finished third with a score of 88. Finishing in fifth place was Fergus’s Trace Martin with a PR of 95. Other Fergus golfers were Truman Pierce at 101, Wyatt Mager with a PR of 108, Brian Schulz with a PR of 112, Jake Henderson at 116, Isaiah Kolar with a PR of 121, Kendrick Wright with a PR of 121, Isaac Watson with a PR of 130 and Solomon Albertson-Gore with a 142. Gavin Ehlert had to withdraw from the competition due to a sprained wrist.
