Fergus takes fifth at divisionals in Belgrade

 Taking fifth place with 54 points at this weekend’s Eastern A Divisional Track and Field Meet in Belgrade, the Golden Eagles saw a number of impressive individual performances from athletes such as Haiden Collins, Drake Henson, Kai Krumwiede, Jaden Graham, Mason Harrison, Marissa James, Emily Smith, Ashley Brand, Sheanna Larson and Bailey Collins.

Haiden Collins placed first in the 110-meter hurdles, first in the 300-meter hurdle race, fifth in the 100-meter-dash and sixth in the 200-meter dash, earning him honors of Athlete of the Week. Marissa James also had an impressive showing at divisionals, taking first place in the 100-meter hurdles and second place in the high jump. 

Another stunner was Drake Henson, who took third in both the 800-meter race and the 1600-meter-race. Henson’s performance in the 800 broke a school record, as he ran a 1.57.03. The previous school record was 1.57.3. 

Kai Krumwiede also ran well, taking second place in the 3200-meter race. Other Fergus runners did well, as Noah Majerus placed fourth and Sam Fulbright fifth in the 3,200-meter race. 

In the field, Jaden Graham took fifth in the high jump and Mason Harrison took sixth in shot put. 

For the Lady Eagles, Ashley Brand had a good day, placing second in triple jump, third in long jump and sixth in the 100-meter hurdles. Anna Zimmer excelled, as well, taking second place in shot put and sixth in javelin throw. Sheanna Larson took second in the javelin contest. Lastly, Bailey Collins had a good showing in pole vault, placing fifth.
