Fire destroys home, no one injured

According to Joe Ward, fire marshal with Lewistown Fire Rescue, on Thursday, Dec. 21, at 3:54 p.m., Lewistown Rural Fire was dispatched to a residential house fire. 

Firefighters arrived within 15 minutes and found the single-story family dwelling to be fully engulfed in flames. All occupants were accounted for.  Extinguishing efforts continued for several hours. 

The home was completely destroyed by the fire. Estimated loss of property and content were valued from $40,000 to $50,000. The occupant of the home is currently displaced from the home. The fire is still under investigation.

The Fergus County Sheriff’s Office, Fergus Electric Co-op, Lewistown Propane, the CMMC ambulance and the American Red Cross assisted with the emergency.
