Flatwillow News

Flatwillow Homemakers met on Feb. 14 at Bonnie Moore’s home. She had her table set with a Valentine’s theme. It was so cute. Everyone received a table favor of little butterflies that were battery powered for the optical lights. She also had a door prize of a huge teddy bear. Luann won the teddy bear and also the blind pig prize.

Bonnie read the thought for the day called “My Mother’s Apron.”

Sandi Gonzalez drove from Billings and brought Shirle Wiggins, Arlene Bond, and picked up Florence Wacker in Roundup, and the Winnett crew was also there. Donna Lund, Raye Anne Lund, Ginger Moore, Jean Cook, Luann Knutson, Linda Gershmel, along with special visitors Willa Solf and Sherry Caulfield all enjoyed a fun afternoon. It was a beautiful day to get out and socialize.

The next meeting will be March 14 at Jean Cook’s home. Weather permitting, Denise Seilstad from Lewistown will come out and have a program to share with us. [The] opportunity table will also be next month.

District basketball tournaments were held this last weekend in Lewistown for our Class C teams. Congratulations to all our basketball teams, both boys and girls. It is a hectic and exhausting weekend, but so much fun. Our boys played hard and never gave up, and our girls also played very well. Congratulations to our Winnett/Grass Range Lady Rams. They took third in the district tournament. Three teams are moving on so we will be going to the divisional tournaments in Great Falls next weekend. Good luck to all.

Calving is beginning to pick up. I’m starting to see babies are around. Luckily, we are having very nice weather for it at the moment.

Sounds like colder weather and some snow is in the forecast for later in the week, but it has been wonderful to see the snow and ice melting away, and enjoying warmer weather. Of course, now ice jams could be a cause for concern. Creeks and rivers are running higher with all the ice and the melting, but so far I haven’t heard of any flooding in our area.

I haven’t been out and about much this last month, so don’t have a lot of news to report. Hope everyone is staying healthy. See you next time.
