Franklin Joseph Dahlhausen, 82, died Aug. 11, 2019 at his home north of Moccasin, due to cancer issues.

He was born Jan. 2, 1937 at St. John’s Hospital in Helena, to Joseph and Stella Dahlhausen. Frank attended Spokane Creek Grade School and graduated from Helena High in 1956.

After his graduation Frank enlisted in the Army and served from 1957-1959. On Jan. 9, 1960, he married Joyce Helen Dilworth in Helena.

He worked for the City of Helena Water Department in various positions for 17 years, including superintendent, “the head man,” until 1972, when he took over his father’s farm in East Helena. In 1978 they moved north of Moccasin and he farmed and ranched there until his death.

Frank was a school board trustee of the Hobson Public School from 1982-1991. Frank was a 50-year member of the Masons and the Scottish Rite. He belonged to the Masons of King Solomon no. 9, Ottawa no. 51 and Helena Scottish Rite, and was also a member of Vesper Chapter no. 83 in Hobson.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister; and sisters, Helen Paxton and Virginia Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Dilworth Dahlhausen of Moccasin; children, Earl Dahlhausen of Lewistown, Clint (Sally) Dahlhausen of Moccasin; grandchildren, Corina (Darren) Gollehon of Billings, Joseph (Cassidy) Dahlhausen of Gillette, Wyoming; great-grandchildren, Kylie and Brady Gollehon, Audric, Zaiden, and Paige Dahlhausen; sisters-in-law, Sarann (Ray) Williams and Emma Champa; and several nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held at Creel Funeral Home on Sunday, Aug. 18, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Services for Frank will be Monday, Aug. 19, at 10:30 a.m. at Creel Funeral Home with interment to follow at Lewistown City Cemetery. Memorials in Frank’s honor can be made to Judith Lodge #86 or a charity of your choice.
