Gary Allen Frounfelter, 82, of Lewistown, passed into the arms of Jesus, Friday, Oct. 5, 2018.

Gary was born in 1937 in Wheaton, Minnesota. He married the “chick” of his life, Lorraine Gaulrapp Hill, in October, 1959, along with her five children, at the age of 22. Some of his last words were that he was proud to have been able to help raise Lorraine’s five children. And they love him dearly.

Gary moved the family to Glendive in 1959 to work for Consolidated Freightways. They next moved to Lewistown in 1961, where he was a 33-year employee of the City of Lewistown.

After serving four years of active duty in the Army, he completed 20 years of active Army Reserve.

Gary was an avid outdoorsman. He truly enjoyed being out in the mountains, hunting and walking to work. He passed the love of nature to his sons.

Grandpa always had change in his pocket for the grandkids to get a special treat. Due to inflation, it became a dollar bill.

Gary is survived by his wife, Lorraine; sons, Doug (Judy) Hill of Twin Falls Idaho; Gordie (Melinda) Hill of Billings; Rick (Debbie) Hill of Lewistown; daughters, Susan (Ken) Schaff of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Nancy (Todd) Phillips of Lewistown; 17 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and seven great, great grandchildren; and siblings, Butch, Dale and Wayne Frounfelter and Barbara Wolberson.

A funeral service for Gary Allen Frounfelter, will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11 at the First Presbyterian Church, 215 5th Ave. South.

Donations in his name may be given to Hospice of Central Montana, that gave him fantastic care during the last months of his life.
