Gun Raffle winners announced

Ed Vaughan of Two Dot, Montana, wins 1941 Winchester Model 94, 30-30 rifle from Central Montana Resource Council 2017 Fall Gun Raffle.

The Central Montana Resource Council drew the two winning tickets for CMRC’s 2017 Fall Gun Raffle, Oct. 19 at “Central Montana Goes Solar” film festival held at Lewistown Public Library. The winner of the 1941 Winchester Model 94, 30-30 rifle was Ed Vaughan of Two Dot, Montana, and the winner of the 1978 Ruger 220 Swift rifle with Leopold scope was Austin Hecker of Helena, Montana.

Raffle proceeds benefit CMRC’s work for clean water, food sustainability and clean energy right here in Central Montana.

Central Montana Resource Council is a non-profit community organization dedicated to sustaining our water, air, land and food for this and future generations. CMRC works to protect our surface and groundwater from degradation and over-withdrawal, through baseline water testing, public education and other efforts. CMRC also actively advocates for clean energy and works to preserve the our food sustainability through the “Green Share Project Garden” at 312 W. Washington Street in Lewistown, where this season, 600 pounds of fresh produce grown by volunteers was donated to Community Cupboard and the Council on Aging.
