Help still needed at Veterans Park

Dear Editor,
I would again like to thank all the volunteers and donations that got the missile restored and the sidewalks done. A big part of the funds came from the Central Montana Foundation, which are also donations. The next project for the American Legion, VFW, Son’s of the American Legion and the Auxiliaries, will be restoring the WWII Cannon. All of this is a great addition to Lewistown.
The Veterans Park was a major undertaking by the same groups headed up by a few dedicated Vets. The city mows the lawn, thanks, but the rest of the maintenance is done by a couple of guys, and they need help. Little things like weeding the flowerbeds, picking up paper, cans, paper cups that seem to grow on their own. Oh yes, doggie droppings. The flags are expensive to purchase and repair. Donations are welcome and may be left at the American Legion. The park is also a good place for memorials to veterans.
There are two individuals that deserve recognition for heading up these projects the last couple of years and always there to help with the work. Just this week they were at the park trimming trees. A big thank you to Don Bost and Tom Killham.
You don’t have to do much, just do like I do when you go by: stop and pick up something, pull a weed or two and go on your way.
