Hobson Town Council met on Wednesday, May 17, at City Hall. Mayor Loren Drivdahl presided. Council members present were Paulette Matlosz, Mike Woods, Ron Peevey, Bill Spratt and Larry Denton. Also present were Engineers Garth French and Jeremy Fadness.

There was much discussion about the growth policy of Hobson, before the regularly scheduled meeting took place. A much-needed comprehensive plan for economic development in Hobson was the subject matter. There is a need to bring people and businesses back into town. An open house Town Hall meeting has been established for input from residents for things the town can do to improve a plan to make Hobson more sustainable. We need a list of projects that Hobson needs and wants. Surveys will be mailed to all Hobson residents for more ideas.

The Town Hall Open House has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 26 at Hobson School. Mark your calendar. Things like library roofing and siding, streets, water system and lagoon were suggestions.

Garth and Jeremy finished their reports and departed.

The regular meeting was conducted. Minutes and finances were reported and accepted. The boiler at the pool has been inspected and has passed. The American Legion Auxiliary ladies decided not to volunteer to clean up the Philbrook cemetery anymore, so the school BPA members will be asked if they would like the job. It will be a twice a year job, for Memorial Day and Labor Day.

The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
