On Monday, Aug. 22, Hobson Seniors hosted a spaghetti luncheon for the teachers, workers, bus drivers and new superintendent of Hobson school.

After a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, the school’s Secretary, Kim Vincent, introduced everyone to the seniors. Sharron Killham let them know that the meal was supplied by the Senior Center along with several of the members who donated salads and desserts.

After enjoying the meal, all the guests were given pint jars filled with fresh cut flowers, most of which were donated by Jean Mikkelsen and several senior ladies.

After thanking everyone for the great meal and the flowers, the teachers returned to their school duties.

On Sunday, Aug. 28, a large gathering of 33 people met at the Hobson Senior Center to help several veterans celebrate their many years in the American Legion, including Lear Flannigan, for 60 years, and Ken Turner and Les Masdsen each for 70 years.

Coffee, cake and ice cream were served.

Thank you to Sharron Killham for the great cake she made for the occasion, and to Auxiliary members who helped serve it.

Congratulations to the veterans and thank you for your service to our country.
