Hobson School celebrated Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 13, by inviting veterans to a program for and about them. Mrs. Kynett emceed the event.

Guest speaker was Hobson’s Mayor, Loren Drivdahl, who is a veteran with many years of service to talk about. He showed a slide show of different events in history that portrayed service members in their jobs. The very impressive pictures showed the many, many cemeteries around the world with very large numbers of casualties from the wars. He also showed how expensive some of the ships and tanks were.

Several students gave reports about veterans in history.

The choir sang a patriotic song and everyone stood for the national anthem.

Students from lower grades gave veterans pictures and drawings they had made for them.

The band planed one more patriotic song, and Dylan Knerr played taps to end the program.

Nine veterans attended the program. Also there was the Auxiliary’s president, Mae Rosman. The veterans were then invited to stay and join the students for lunch, which most did.
