The Hobson City Council was called to a special meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Hobson City Hall. Mayor Loren Drivdahl presided. Members present were Bill Spratt, Ron Beevey, Mike Woods, Paulette Matlosz and Larry Denton. Others present were Garth French, Mark Howard and Jay Wood.

The subject for the meeting was the sewer lagoon. One cell has been plugged up by ballast tubes. Sludge must be pumped down 2-1/2 ft. to fix the problem. The upper cell has tears in the liner that must be patched. Those liners are nearly 25 years old. The sludge level must be pumped down from one cell to the other to make repair work accessible. Pumping will take two weeks to accomplish this. Mark purchased a pump and 20 feet of hose. Both ponds are full. It was agreed to pump until it freezes, to keep the tears out of the water, until they can be patched. This should keep the ponds working okay until major work can be done in the spring. Mark will begin pumping and Garth will get a price quote from Century to fix the cracks in the liner.

The meeting was adjourned at 8 p.m.
