Hobson Town Council met on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. at City Hall. Mayor Loren Drivdahl presided. Council members present were Mike Woods, Ron Peevey, Larry Denton, Bill Spratt and Paulette Matlosz. Also present were Nealy Campbell, Shawn Auck and Mark Howard. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Then the minutes of the last meeting were checked, approved and seconded. Same for the financial reports.

Shawn brought paperwork for the Fire Department funds, which he has been handling for several years. He asked that the funds be handled by a Hobson Fire Board to govern this money. A new bank account needs to be made for it. The paperwork was accepted and the subject will be tabled until the next meeting.

Nealy reported that rebar type of metal was protruding from curbs near the pool that were unsafe for the kids. Loren said he would remove them.

Lifeguard appointment applications are ready to go out. Nealy has been busy with plans for the all school reunion starting on July 2. There will be a dinner on the street near the pool, catered by the Tall Boys Tavern. Lots of live auction items, and 50/50 will be available to help support the pool fund. A liquor license will allow alcohol to be available. Lots of other plans are in the works. Anyone wishing to donate a Silent Auction article for this event; please contact Nealy.

A gate for the pool is still not furnished; it will be checked out and remedied. The pool needs cleaning and painting. Nealy wants help with this, with winterizing and un-winterizing the pool, at the appropriate times.

The playground needs attention. It will be cleaned up, and shavings or sawdust will be brought in for locations needing it.

Mark reported that the lagoon cells are high and iced over. He has been working there every day. A new cement slab will be brought in for a new generator to function there.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
