Larry W. Hajenga

Larry W. Hajenga, 67, passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings.

Larry was born in Lewistown on July 9, 1949 to John and Louise (Soderquist) Hajenga. He attended schools at Garneill and Buffalo before graduating from Moore High School with the Class of 67.

He attended the vocational school in Helena and worked in construction for a while, before returning to work on the ranch when his father passed away.

Larry remained on the ranch until his passing, raising livestock, growing grain and tending to his pigs. He was always willing to help his neighbors and was proud of the Judith Gap and Garneill communities. He was a hard worker who also loved to hunt and fish. Larry could fix anything and thought of duct tape and super glue as good Band-Aids. 

He was an active member of the Judith Gap American Legion Post #70 and twice served as Post Commander.

Larry will be missed by those he leaves behind, including his wife, Debra Hajenga of Judith Gap; children, Samantha Hajenga, Bremerton, Wash., Zachary Hajenga and Allison Hajenga, Judith Gap, Thea Bruce, Miles City, Leah Devine, Albertville, Minn., Kelly Hajenga, Ramsey, Minn.; mother, Louise Hajenga Edwards, Bozeman; sisters, Vicki Althaus, Blaine, Minn., Karla Davidson, Bozeman, Connie Hajenga, Bozeman; brother, James Dyke, Great Falls; and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Larry will be held Saturday, Oct. 1 at 2 p.m. in Judith Gap at the United Methodist Church. Donations in Larry’s honor may be made to the Judith Gap American Legion Post #70.
