Legionnaires to descend on Lewistown this April

Don Bost, commander of American Legion Post 16 in Lewistown, is expecting about 85 Legionnaires and members of the Auxiliary to attend the spring meeting of District No. 9 on Sunday, April 2, at the American Legion Club, in Lewistown.

Bost said there are about 1,500 Legionnaires in District No. 9. The Posts are located in Harlowton, Lewistown, Roundup, Stanford, Denton, Judith Gap, Hobson, Winnett, Roy and Winifred.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. at the club, located at 402 West Main Street. At 10 a.m. the Department program will begin. Auxiliary meetings will be held at the Lewistown Civic Center located at 309 Fifth Avenue South.

A joint banquet will begin at 12 p.m. (noon), at the American Legion Club with Department Commander Hal Rice of Calgary as guest speaker.

The Legion business meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. with District Commander Demorise Allen conducting the Legion meeting. District President Gayle Doney of Lewistown will conduct the Auxiliary meeting.
