Lewistown hockey team takes second in Havre

The Lewistown Snow Hole Hockey team had a strong showing in Havre last weekend at the annual Hi-Line Hell Freeze tournament.
The three-day event was held at the Havre Ice Dome and featured 10 adult teams from across Montana and Alberta, which competed in two different divisions.
The Lewistown team was led by player-coach Bill Berg. They squared off against a pair of Havre squads in their first two games, winning the first one 3-1, and losing the second 1-0. On Saturday afternoon, Lewistown took on their long-time rivals, the Bozeman Flying Zambonis, and came away with a hard-fought 4-2 victory.
The win earned Lewistown a spot in the championship on Sunday, which turned out to be a rematch of Saturday afternoon’s game. This time, Lewistown and Bozeman battled to a 4-4 tie at the end of regulation time, and had to go into overtime to decide the victor. Bozeman managed to score the final goal and eke out a 5-4 championship win, while Lewistown finished in second place.
