Local churches celebrate the holidays

The New Argus reached out to all the local churches in our community to find out the special events they were offering for the Christmas season. This list consists of the churches that responded.

United Methodist Church will be collecting donations of money or items for the Blackfeet parish in Browning, Mt. The items collected will be appropriate for ages 2-18. Those wanting to make a donation of any kind please contact the church with the deadline being Dec. 20. Cookies will be made for shut-ins for the holiday season. If you know anyone who would like a plate of cookies and is housebound please contact the church no later than Wed., Dec. 13. They will also be assisting the Community Cupboard with their soup kitchen. On Saturday, Dec. 29, the soup will be made then delivered on Dec. 30. They are offering to bring a quart of soup to anyone who needs one, so please contact them. The Christmas services will be at 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 24. The church is located at 512 W. Broadway. For all inquires for the above services please call 535-3722 or visit their website, www.LewistownUMC.com.  Their affiliate location, located in Winifred, will hold their Christmas service on Dec. 24 at 4p.m.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is inviting everyone to their annual Christmas Party on Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. at the meetinghouse on 900 Casino Creek Road. Please come and join them for fellowship, good food and a great opportunity to celebrate the Savior's birth together. There will be no charge for the meal.

The Bread of Life Missionary Baptist Church will be holding their Christmas message service on Dec. 24, at 11:15 a.m. in the church building at 900 Reynolds Street.

Zion Lutheran Church will be holding their Christmas service on Sat. Dec. 23, at 3p.m. The location will be at their church at 604 W. Evelyn.

Central Baptist Church will be holding a special Christmas service on Dec. 24, at 10:45 a.m. The location of the church building is 195 Mile Drive. Please call 535-8765 if more information is needed.

First Presbyterian Church will have their special Candlelight Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. On Dec. 25, a Christmas dinner will be offered from noon to 2 p.m. The community is invited to come and there will be no charge.
