Marcia Marie Jackson

Marcia Marie Jackson, 43, while surrounded by her family, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Marcia was born in Lewistown, Montana to Ronald and Lurene (Solf) Olson on Aug. 1, 1974. She grew up in Winnett and graduated from Winnett High School. Marcia was proud of the days when she played basketball, and she was also a talented pianist. She once received a one rating for a piano solo and went on to State. Marcia loved animals of all kinds and she loved to quilt.

Marcia attended Eastern Montana College in Billings, Montana. She studied to become a nurse with a minor in music. After becoming a licensed CNA she worked for a number of years at the Roundup Nursing Home, CMMC and at Valle Vista Manor.

In 1994, Marcia met Dave Jackson. They were united in marriage at St. Leo’s Catholic Church on June 14, 1997.

Marcia was a member of St. Leo’s Parish. She was also a member of Women of the Moose and had obtained the College of Regents Degree. Marcia loved to cook and can; anything from pickled beets to gooseberry jelly. The last nine years, Marcia has worked at Rindal’s Country Corner.

Marcia never met a stranger; she always had a smile and a kind word. Marcia simply made everyone’s day a little brighter.

Marcia is survived by her husband, Dave Jackson (20 years); mother, Lurene Olson of Winnett, Mont.; brothers, Edwin and Brad Olson of Winnett, Mont.; sisters, Donna Watson of Lewistown, Mont., Carol Heppner of Lewistown, Mont., and Teri (Ken) Smith of Three Forks, Mont.; nieces, Lauren Olson of Lewistown, Kendall and Anna Smith of Three Forks, and Becky McKenna of Lewistown; great-niece, Aubrey Decker of Butte, Mont.; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and special friends, Susan Twitchell, Yvonne Jackson and Katie Hokanson.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ronald Olson; mother-in-law, Kay Jackson; and grandparents, Howard and Ione Olson, Edwin and Ruth Hanson, and Joseph and Anna Solf.

A Parish Vigil Service will be held at St. Leo’s Catholic Church on Friday, April 13, at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Leo’s on Saturday, April 14, at 11 a.m. Rite of Committal will be at the Winnett Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Billings Clinic Cancer Center or to CMMC Hospice.
