Margaret ‘Peg’ (Wichman) Straight

Peg was born in Lewistown on Dec. 7, 1942, to Robert “Joe” and Vesta Wichman.

Peg went to Wild Rose School, Moore High School and on to Beauty School in Billings. She also worked at First National Bank and Northwest Fabrics/Hancock Fabrics.

Early in Peg’s adult life, she enjoyed going to Pat’s Club, where she meet John Straight and got married on Sept 19, 1961. After starting a family, they moved around, settling back down in Billings.

She enjoyed bowling, golf, crafts, gardening and playing cards. In traveling, she enjoyed going to family gatherings, the yearly sisters’ weekend, breakfasts with friends, her trip to Paris with her husband and trip to Hawaii with her family. In her later years, watching her granddaughter, Tiffany, made her heart fill with joy.

Peg is survived by her sons, Johnny and Jeff; daughter Jill South; son-in-law Jim; grandchild Tiffany; and step-grandkids Jessica (Cameron) Ruttenbur and family, and Jordan (Dan) Bennett.

Peg leaves behind her sisters, Jacque (Ron) Alles, Marilyn Merchen, Nancy (Ted) Taylor, Sally (Ken) Turnquist, Vicki (Chuck) Damson, Nina (Joe) Rapkock; and sister-in-law Rita (Wichman) Seavy; and her brothers, John (Sharon), Gary (Colleen), Keith (Rana), Herb (Nancy) David (Janet) and Terry.
