The Lewistown Downtown Association Agricultural Committee is gearing up for a new big event this summer: Montana’s Longest Table – an outdoor dinner party on 2nd Avenue (between Brooks Market and the Glacier) “celebrating the relationship of Central Montana Agriculture and the Lewistown business community “

LDA representative Jennifer Saunders said the idea for this event came together last year following a brainstorming session with ag producers, ag organizations, restaurant owners and others from all over Central Montana.

“The response was awesome,” Saunders said. “Thirteen people attended from Winifred, Winnett, Grass Range, Denton and Lewistown. They represented Cattle Women, Stock Growers, WIFE, Farm Bureau, MSU Extension, those in production agriculture and local businesses.”

On Saturday, June 24, “The Longest Table,” will come to life, featuring a meal that Saunders said “Central Montana commodities and ingredients while providing an opportunity for local restaurants and businesses.”

“Two hundred attendees will fill their plates and sit as a community at ‘Montana’s Longest Table,’” Saunders said. “Music, children’s games, activities and additional educational living exhibits will also be part of the event.”

Tickets are on sale at Don’s Store and the Fergus County Extension Office.
