Neil Nelson, 45, passed away on Jan. 17 with his wife Reana and daughter Alex by his side. He bravely battled cholangiocarcinoma for 18 months. Neil was the son of Jack and Elaine Nelson. He graduated from Fergus High School in 1992. Soon after he moved to Utah, where he remained until moving to the Dallas-Fort Worth area two years ago. He married Reana, the love of his life, 15 years ago. Together they raised his daughter Alex who was the light of his life. He was a loving husband and father and always seemed to find the fun in whatever they were doing. He enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, and was always up for a new adventure. Even living with the knowledge his cancer was terminal, he continued to laugh, play, work and make the most of every day. They spent many happy hours working on their new house and added a new puppy to the family. He leaves behind his wife Reana, daughter Alex, stepdaughter Casey Robinson, sisters Linette Halverson and Cheryl Goffena, two nephews, and many nieces, several of whom were more like sisters to him. The family will gather for a celebration of life this summer. “You were taken too soon, Neil, but will live forever in our hearts.”
