Brooks Hall ‘mall’ craft fair opens

Fall, Halloween and Christmas craft items and gifts will be on offer Saturday, Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The assortment of goodies includes woodworking, wood burning from Maria Tresch Whitcraft, china paint, homemade soap, Halloween decorations, lots and lots of items, jewelry and horseshoe decorations. There will be 15 to 20 vendors participating. Christina Busy Bee’s 4-H Club will be having a bake sale, and there will be homemade chicken soup.

Fibre Arts fans: the Central Montana Guild will meet Oct. 13

The Central Montana Fibre Arts Guild will meet on Thursday, Oct. 13 at the Celebration Community Fellowship Church, 361 West Frontage Road on Highway 87.
At 6:30 p.m. is Show and Tell time, at 7 p.m. is the business meeting, and at 7:30 p.m. is the program. At 5 p.m., those who wish may join us to dine at El Rancho Alegre.
As the presenter of the Old Lost Quilt Pattern was unable to be at the September meeting, the program will be at the October meeting.
Please bring an 8-inch square of muslin, a 3-inch square of printed or solid color fabric, thread, needle and scissors.

Government Review Commission meets Oct. 14

The Lewistown Government Review Commission will be meeting on Friday, Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. at the Lewistown Civic Center. The meeting is open to the public.

Spirits from the Vault

Beware... The vault has cracked open. Spirits of all sizes and shapes are escaping. Those brave enough to come down to the corner of Main Street and Fifth Avenue, on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. will have the thrill of their lives... venturing across the threshold into the old Judith Basin Bank, filled with eerie sounds, cool drafts and looming shapes, making the hair on you neck stand on end.
Scary, spooky and yet fun... The Vault is a new Halloween experience produced by the Lewistown Downtown Association. Come down to the Vault and “bank” with us, only a small deposit will be required for admittance. Escaping will be your problem. *NOT recommended for small children.

promotions, economic restructuring

The Lewistown Downtown Association meets today, Wednesday, Oct. 12 at the Brooks Market meeting room. The planning meeting will be held at 1 p.m. and the board meeting starts at 2 p.m. Items on the agenda include committee reports, Adopt-A-Block update, store front shingle hanger update, tree project, street cleaning schedule, positive promotion campaign, piano, special event expo, Halloween fun fest, Wayfinding, sidewalks, parking, housing, business economic package, Lewistown Art District ROC Downtown update. The meeting is open to the public.

Fergus County Port Authority will meet Oct. 12

On Wednesday, Oct. 12, the Fergus County Port Authority will meet 8 a.m. in the Sheriff’s Office basement.
The agenda will include: Approval of last meeting minutes; Financial report; Request to back purchase of the Powers Mercantile building; Berg Property housing development; Business park; Town and Country meeting recap; and Election of officers.
This meeting is open to the public.

Rotary Club to move meeting location

The Lewistown Rotary Club will have a new location for its Monday meetings. Beginning on Monday, Oct. 17, the Rotary Club will meet at Pine Meadows Golf Course. The meeting will continue to be at noon on Mondays.

Enjoy Silver Sage at this week’s Senior Dance

The Silver Sage Country Band is scheduled to play for the Oct. 15, Saturday afternoon dance. The band features Lloyd McKenna on mandolin and guitar, Meryl McKenna on piano, Barbara Engle on bass guitar and Don Engle on lead guitar. All will participate in harmony vocals.
The dance goes from 2 to 4 p.m. with a short coffee/cookie break at 3 p.m. Dancers of all ages are welcome.
The dance hall is located at the corner of Third Ave. S. and Barnes St. There is a small admission fee.
