Region 4 CAC to meet with legislators in Great Falls


Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks’ Region 4 Citizen Advisory Committee will meet 5-8 p.m., Dec. 15, at the FWP Region 4 office, 4600 Giant Springs Road in Great Falls, for a special legislative meeting.

The meeting is open to the public, and state senators and representatives in the region have been invited as well. At the meeting FWP will share its legislative proposals with legislators and CAC members and answer any questions on these or other related topics. There will also be department updates and an open session for questions and discussions.

Each of FWP’s seven administrative regions has a volunteer CAC to help guide policies and programs. The Region 4 group meets three to four times a year.

Arts and Entertainment District to discuss cultural plan


The Lewistown Arts and Entertainment District Association board will meet at noon on Friday at the Chokecherry Lane Mall, 311 West Main Street. Among items on the agenda is a report on the committee that worked on a cultural plan for the organization. The meeting is open to the public and those interested in local arts and entertainment are encouraged to attend.


Fair board to discuss rodeo and horse show


The regular monthly meeting of the Fergus County Fair Board will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 20, in the lobby of the Trade Center. Items to be discussed include the rodeo, horse show, the roping club credit request and policies and procedures. This meeting is open to the public.


Hilger Rural Fire holding traffic control training


Hilger Rural Fire and Montana Highway Patrol will hold a traffic control training 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17 at the Hilger Fire Hall. Officer Alex Betz, Montana Highway Patrol, will lead both indoor briefing and hands-on outdoor scenario, using Hilger Fire trucks and equipment. Learn how to stay safe when responding to car accidents or directing traffic during fire incidents. All area rural volunteers are invited to attend this important training. Santa visits Nursing and Rehab Center

The Central Montana Nursing and Rehab Center will have an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22 at 410 Wendell Ave. in Lewistown. Santa Claus will be there and refreshments will be served. The public is invited. 


Groove with the Gaffers at the Saturday dance


The Groovy Gaffers will provide the music for the Saturday Afternoon Dance on Dec. 17. The band features Lauri Lohrer on vocals, and Dave Robertson, Don Engle and Barb Engle on guitars and vocals. The dance goes from 2 to 4 p.m. with a short coffee cookie break at 3 pm.

If you enjoy dancing to good country music, come and join in the fun. Dancers of all ages are welcome. The club building is located at the corner of Third Ave. S. and Barnes St. There is a small admission fee.
