Big Spring Creek Watershed
Council to discuss soccer fields

The Big Spring Creek Watershed Council will meet on Monday, Dec. 19 at 3 p.m. at the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Area Resource Office in Lewistown. Agenda items include Hanson Creek Dam fishing access, an update on the progress being made on the Machler steam restoration, an update on the Madison acquifer water project and the progress being made on the location of proposed soccer fields. The meeting is open to the public. Further information about the watershed council can be obtained by contacting Chairman Clay Dunlap at 366-6887.

Attention all bison owners

On June 7, Fergus County voters passed land use ordinance #2016-12, an ordinance for the protection of soil and water from all bison grazing in Fergus Conservation District.
This ordinance went into effect on Oct. 1. This ordinance applies retroactively to all bison grazing within Fergus Conservation District.
The Conservation District board members ask you to call or come to the office to get the ordinance requirements that need to be submitted to Fergus Conservation District. Contact Shonny Nordlund at 538-7401 ext. 101, or stop by at 211 McKinley, Suite 3, in Lewistown.

Fair board to discuss
rodeo and horse show

The regular monthly meeting of the Fergus County Fair Board will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 20, in the lobby of the Trade Center. Items to be discussed include the rodeo, horse show, the roping club credit request, sponsorships, commitee bylaws, and policies and procedures. This meeting is open to the public.

Hilger Rural Fire cancels
traffic control training

The traffic control training scheduled for today, Dec. 17 at the Hilger Fire Hall has been cancelled due to weather. With questions or to register, call Laurie at (253) 310-7135 or Dick at 538-8648.

Santa visits Nursing and Rehab Center

The Central Montana Nursing and Rehab Center will have an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22, at 410 Wendell Avenue in Lewistown. Santa Claus will be there and refreshments will be served. The public is invited.

Groove with the Gaffers at today’s dance

The Groovy Gaffers will provide the music for the Saturday afternoon dance, today, Dec. 17. The band features Lauri Lohrer on vocals, and Dave Robertson, Don Engle and Barb Engle on guitars and vocals. The dance goes from 2 to 4 p.m. with a short coffee cookie break at 3 p.m.
If you enjoy dancing to good country music, come and join in the fun. Dancers of all ages are welcome. The club building is located at the corner of Third Avenue South and Barnes Street. There is a small admission fee.
